The C35 series photos are colour, 35mm negatives. This format was the most common among everyday photographers in the 1980's and 1990's. While covering a wide range of topics, the small size and graininess of the colour emulsion means that their quality is limited. Nevertheless they were a prolific series in our collections, as over 500,000 of them are held by City Archives. A lot of them are duplicates or very similar photos (since photographers take bursts of photos and edit later), this blows out the item count to an extent. This collection often has poor metadata leading into the 1990's and 2000's when Council's photography department was phased out, and as such is difficult to parse. This collection represents the highlights.
