In 1951 Council began resuming riverside land from Corner Stanley and Montague Roads through to Davies Park to create a "riverside drive" and associated park land as part of a beautification program to improve City's image. Driven in part by the pending Royal Visit in 1952. These Images show various structures and improvements to riverside properties in the area that were required to be resumed to enable filling of the area to create Riverside drive. The first second of road was finished in October 1952.
